The SCC has a commitment to ensure that policy developments impacting on rural areas will reflect the consumer interest.

In the past few years the SCC has maintained a 'watching brief' on rural issues.

SCC will be maintaining its interest in rural policy development and in the interlinked agriculture and fisheries policies. We aim to keep up to date with issues affecting consumer in remote, rural and island areas of Scotland to ensure policies impacting on rural areas will reflect the consumer interest, with particular emphasis on disadvantaged consumers.
