Fit for the Future: Young People's Participation in Physical Activity in Scottish Secondary Schools
This report presents the findings of an Ipsos MORI Scotland poll of almost 2000 young people across Scotland which explored their participation in school-based physical activity (both in class time and through extra curricular activities) and investigate their attitudes towards this and any barriers they experience.

Stakeholder Perspectives of the Scottish Diet Action Plan Review

Following the publication of the Review of the Scottish Diet Action Plan commissioned by NHS Health Scotland, the SCC held a Chairman’s Lunch with key stakeholders.  The occasion saw a lively debate with a marked consensus on many issues. In order for these views to reach a wider audience, SCC has published “Stakeholder Perspectives on the Diet Action Plan Review”.  It is hoped that this will spark further interest and lead to action.  Further details are available on the food pages.

Call for improvement: the experience of members of the public in contacting their local NHS

May 2007

This report explores what happens when members of the public contact the NHS in their local area by phone or email looking for information or advice. It shows that some NHS boards are better than others at handling calls and emails, but that in many cases people do not get the information or advice they are looking for. The report makes a series of recommendations about how boards could do better in this area.
