Stakeholder Perspectives of the Scottish Diet Action Plan Review

Following the publication of the Review of the Scottish Diet Action Plan commissioned by NHS Health Scotland, the SCC held a Chairman’s Lunch with key stakeholders. The occasion saw a lively debate with a marked consensus on many issues. In order for these views to reach a wider audience, SCC has published “Stakeholder Perspectives on the Diet Action Plan Review”. It is hoped that this will spark further interest and lead to action. Call for improvement: the experience of members of the public in contacting their local NHS

This report explores what happens when members of the public contact the NHS in their local area by phone or email looking for information or advice. It shows that some NHS boards are better than others at handling calls and emails, but that in many cases people do not get the information or advice they are looking for. The report makes a series of recommendations about how boards could do better in this area.
