Education
SCC aims to ensure that parents and young people have a strong and credible voice
in the development of education policy and a key role in shaping and monitoring
the provision of education services.
Consumers of education
SCC defines consumers in education as those who have to make decisions about their children’s or their own education, in effect parents, children and young people who must be equipped to make informed choices and have the opportunity to influence service provision.
SCC policy work
We aim to promote our education policy and research findings with key organisations such as the Scottish Executive Education Department, parents’ representative bodies and other relevant organisations.
We respond to relevant consultations in relation to education policy and participate in external committees and advisory groups including the UK Education Forum, the Scottish Forum on Education and the Education (Additional Support for Learning) Act Advisory Group.
