The SCC today welcomed the publication of Ofcom’s proposals to restrict the television advertising of food and drink products to children as heralding a welcome new change of regulatory direction that takes account of public health concerns.

Scots not plugging into internet access, says SCC

Large numbers of Scots who cannot afford Internet access at home have little idea of how to make use of publicly available Internet access points. “Public Internet access is not plugging the gap in the Digital Divide,” says the Scottish Consumer Council's new report Freedom of Access. It means they cannot take advantage of the wealth of information on the Internet or benefit from cheaper goods and services that the Internet can provide.

that many Scots are unhappy with BBC News produced from London. A majority would
like to see the BBC produce a Six O'clock news programme from Scotland that covers
Scottish, UK and international news.
