MARTYN EVANS, BA(hons) MA(econ) Martyn is the Director of the Scottish Consumer Council. He took up this post in 1998. Martyn was a visiting Professor of Law at the University of Strathclyde from 1995-2001. Martyn was Chief Executive Officer of Citizens Advice Scotland for five years prior to taking up his post with the Scottish Consumer Council. Martyn was also the Director of Shelter (Scottish Campaing for Homeless People) from 1987-1992. He is a member of a number of Scottish Government and UK government advisory groups. Susan is Senior Administrator at the SCC. She is responsible for the day to day running of the SCC's office, working closely with the Head of Corporate Resources. Susan provides secretarial support to the Director, Martyn Evans. Her key roles include management of the SCC database, maintenance of the website, publication of research reports, organising conferences and events. Scottish Consumer Council |

Liz Macdonald is responsible for the SCC's policy in the areas of health and social care. She has worked at the SCC since 1993, and has been a Policy Manager since 1997. Liz also manages the Health Rights Information Scotland project, which is based at the SCC.

Trisha McAuley M.A. (Hons), M.Phil Trisha is responsible for the business management of the SCC, including finance, personnel, facilities, legal affairs, publishing, and workplanning. She is also the Secretary to the Council. Trisha also leads the SCC's policy work on utilities (covering water, communications, energy and postal services), and in construction. | Gill MacGregor Our Consumer Network provides a vital link between ordinary members of the public throughout Scotland and the SCC, and Gill was appointed as Consumer Network Co-ordinator in November 2003. Her role is to deal with the day-to-day administration and the continuing development of the Network. Following on from a major external review of the Network, which was carried out in 2002, Gill has continued to recruit as wide a range of individuals and groups as possible to reflect the full range of consumer concerns throughout Scotland. She sees her role as providing the link between the Network and the policy staff here at SCC. Scottish Consumer Council |

Sarah O'Neill is a qualified solicitor, with experience in both private practice and the advice sector. She was previously employed as the in-court adviser at Edinburgh sheriff court. She is also an accredited mediator. Sarah has worked for the Scottish Consumer Council since 1998. She is responsible for the SCC's legal policy, including access to justice, legal services, consumer law and freedom of information.

Jennifer Wallace M.A. (Hons), M.Phil

Mary is a chartered chemist and is responsible for the SCC's policy on food. Mary joined the SCC in 2004 and works part time. Since joining the SCC, Mary has helped set up the Cross Party Group on Food in the Scottish Parliament and acts as Secretary. Her background is in industry and trade associations in the UK and Europe.

Healthyliving Award |

Claire is Project Manager of the new Healthyliving Award, which was launched in August 2006. Funded by the Scottish Government and managed by the SCC, this new award builds on the experience of the Scottish Healthy Choices Award, rewarding caterers who support healthier eating and who make it easier for their customers to eat healthily when out and about. Yvonne is the Development Co-ordinator for the Healthyliving Award. Yvonne is responsible for the promotion and marketing activities related to the project. Yvonne manages the work of the Development Officer and manages and co-ordinates external contracts related to the marketing and promotion of the project. Healthy Living Award |

Barbara is a Development Officer for the Healthyliving Award, sharing the role with Moira Stalker. Barbara has the same responsibilities as Moira, i.e. assisting the Development Co-ordinator to ensure that the project is promoted effectively to help maximise brand-awareness amongst both the trade and consumers. Barbara is also responsible for providing a range of communication and networking support to all aspects of the project’s development activity.

Lesley Bass Lesley is the Project Administrator and Information Officer for the Healthyliving Award. Lesley is responsible for providing an all round administrative function to support the implementation and delivery of the award. Lesley's key roles include the management and development of the project database, processing applicant documentation and corresponding with caterers and external agencies. Healthy Living Award |

Moira is responsible for assisting the Development Co-ordinator to ensure that the project is promoted effectively to help maximise brand-awareness amongst both the trade and consumers. Angela Tod Angela is Assessment Co-ordinator for the Healthyliving Award. Angela is responsible for the effective delivery of the project by leading the co-ordination of the assessment process and activities, thus ensuring the credibility of the award.
